What are we looking for?

We are looking for people who are willing to organize workshops for our “Leaving Serverland - Developer Edition” event.

We want to keep this event as interactive as possible, so only a few speeches. We are also aware that organizing a real workshop with material, exercises for participants etc, etc. is a ton of work in preparation and that would only be feasible, if you had something ready that you just have to unpack.

When we say “workshop” we are thinking more in the direction of “fireside chats with a console”. So

  • Set a programming challenge (say: automating a workflow)

  • Share your console/IDE

and solve the challenge in an hour or two commenting your code verbally and discuss your path to the solution and obstacles or interesting stuff along the way with your audience. The journey is the goal.

We would like to have stuf for beginners - where the programming challenge is producing a “Hello World!” or equivalent at the end and you focus on setting up the environment, programming tools etc.

Stuff for advanced users where you can skip all that and focus on the actual challenge, performance and limits of the Atlassian platforms

Other ideas are comparative discussions, e.g.

  • Forge vs. Connect

  • Cloud vs. On-Premise

  • Migrating code from server to somewhere else

  • Atlassian Automation vs. Scripting Tools

and combinations thereof.

Workshoppers' Choice.

What do we offer in return?

Alas, no fortunes here, we are just a humble ACE, trying to find our way in the galaxy, and the event is free for everyone, but as we are using Hopin as a platform (s. Details here: How can you participate in Leaving Serverland? ) we can offer you - in addition to our undying gratitude - a virtual booth in the expo area to showcase your company, apps or projects and will include your name and logo in our marketing for this event.
