More details about Berlin's Team '22 Watch Party!

Join us in Berlin - in person.

Atlassian is organizing viewing parties all around the globe and Berlin was chosen as one location, next to Nairobi, Bangalore, New York, Sydney and London.

This is an in-person event and you can register for it (exclusively) here: https://events.atlassian.com/team22/about

Tickets are limited (and there is no such thing as a free lunch, although the tickets are free). If you cannot make it, please give somebody else the chance to join us by logging into your account on the eventpage or sending an e-mail to team@atlassianevents.com to cancel your ticket.

So, if you are planning on joining us, here are a few more details about the location, how to get there, where to stay (if you are travelling to Berlin) and the law of the land for interestig times.

How to get there - Public Transport

The Weekend Club is right next to Alexanderplatz, now - as always - a nexus in Berlin’s public transport system.

  • Trains

    • FEX, HBX, RB14, RE1, RE2, RE7

  • S-Bahn

    • S3, S5, S7, S9

  • Subway (U-Bahn)

    • U2, U5, U8

  • Tram (several stops around Alexanderplatz)

    • M2, M4, M5, M6

  • Bus

    • 100, 200, M2, N2, N5, N8, N40, N42, N60, N65

BVG has an excellent website (and an app) to find connections to and from Alexanderplatz: Fahrinfo Berlin - Public transportation schedules & disruptions | BVG

Alexanderplatz is also only three stops away from Hauptbahnhof and has direct connections to BER airport (about 45 minutes) as well.

When travelling to Berlin, especially from the East, keep in mind that there are currently literally tens of thousands of refugees arriving in the EU from Ukraine every day, many by train, so Berlin main station sees a lot more passengers these days.

COVID-19: Law of the Land

The situation is fluent, to say the least. Germany has very high infection rates, but in Germany Berlin is actually not very high on the list currently. The plan still is to remove most restrictions on March the 20th. That being said: Make sure you are vaccinated and/or tested and that your paperwork (digital or analog) is in order.

The following sites give an overview over the rules for entering Germany and in Berlin (and using public transport):

Where to stay

There are no hotel packages for the viewing parties and we cannot recommend any, just a few tips, if you want to actually travel to Berlin to join us.

As already mentioned before, Alexanderplatz is a central nexus in Berlin’s public transport system and if you are looking for a hotel, it is only a few minutes from the S-Bahn and train stations along Berlin’s Stadtbahn from East to West (or the other way around), between S-Charlottenburg and Ostkreuz

There is an excellent register for hotels in Berlin’s city portal: Hotels in Berlin – Berlin.de that even let’s you look for hotels around Stadtbahn stations.

If you are planning to stay a couple of days, plenty to do: Find Events in Berlin – Berlin.de

Berlin is pretty busy on April 6th, three northern states will already have started their Easter school vacations and the majority of states follow the week after.
